AS FORECAST many weeks ago, Warren Tredrea remains captain of Port Adelaide.

The formality of his third year as skipper was confirmed yesterday, along with Shaun Burgoyne, Chad Cornes and Brendon Lade as his vice-captains.

Faint doubts surfaced on whether Tredrea, 29, was still the right man for the job following a personally disappointing season last year when knee problems restricted his running movement, particularly his marking ability.

But Power coach Mark Williams said he did not hesitate re-appointing Tredrea after he survived the pre-season with flying colours.

"Warren is an outstanding leader, and every year he has been at this club he has improved his leadership," he said.

"He is well supported by Chad, Brendon and Shaun."
